Though our environmental programme has been around since the mid-90s, Responsible Business was introduced in 2001 in response to increasing demands from guests, customers, employees and owners. Within the Responsible Business programme, we work with 3 main responsibilities:
The programme builds on our Responsible Business policy, which in turn is made up of stakeholder expectations from an economic, social and environmental point of view.
As part of our environmental policy, Park Inn by Radisson Uppsala will deliver hotel, restaurant and conference products and services that take into account both the internal and external environment and follow Swedish environmental legislation under the Environment Act.
We shall endeavor to use materials, ingredients and methods that protect the environment in our daily work. We do our best to stay informed about the latest innovations and improvements in the market, leading to a more environmentally friendly operation.
In our hotel, we have a great relationship with our suppliers in order to assure ourselves and our guests that we use products and raw materials produced with the best consideration for the environment. We offer our guests the option to refrain from cleaning during their stay in favour of a donation to Hand in Hand.
We will create a healthy and safe environment for both our staff and guests. The staff receives continuous training in fire and safety, cardio-pulmonary resuscitation and first aid.
Centrally within Rezidor, we work with the World Childhood Foundation and local charities like the Akademiska Hospital Children's Fund. We also act as sponsors for a village in India. The 2-year Hand in Hand Indian sponsor programme creates conditions for sustainable development through proven programmes in key areas like job creation, health surveys, democracy, IT education and the environment. Instead of working, the village children enjoy improved educational opportunities.
