Friends Arena is Sweden’s new national arena, situated in Solna, just north of Stockholm city center. Friends Arena opened in 2012 to replace Råsunda Football Stadium. Swedbank, who originally had the naming rights to the stadium, donated those rights to Friends, a non-profit organization against bullying in schools. If you are heading to a game to watch Sweden’s National Football Team or are catching a concert, then chances are, you will be hosted at this stadium. Come and let the atmosphere blow you away!
Sweden’s National Arena
This state-of-the-art stadium has a spectator capacity of 51,100 for seated sporting events, and 65,000 for concerts and other larger events. It is a multi-functional arena that plays host to concerts by world-renowned artists and large sporting events such as world championships, speedway and equestrian events just to name a few. Football fans can look forward to exciting matches, including national games between Sweden and Norway, and international competitions, such as UEFA Woman’s championships and more. Most importantly, it hosts the Swedish National Football Team and AIK Fotboll Club. The retractable roof allows the stadium to adapt to all weather so events are held here rain or shine, keeping the audience comfortably dry.
