Vitosha Mountain National Park
Vitosha Mountain holds a special place in the hearts of locals. Native flora includes the Vitosh tulips, which can be found on the plateau areas, and many orchid species on lower ground. The natural habitat here was defined as a protected biosphere by UNESCO. The park’s geology
The geology of the mountain and the wider park was shaped from past volcanic activity and evidence of this remains in the granite rock formations. The highest point is 2292 metres and if you decide to climb to the summit, you will be well rewarded with lovely vistas and views towards Sofia.
