Exploring the historic Old Town

The Old Town in any city is always a great place to explore. Discover history, culture and see a mix of ancient and modern architecture mixed into one. Bucharest’s old center is certainly worth a visit, offering a number of attractions as well as a relaxed atmosphere.

The perfect hang out spot

A walk through the Old Town in Bucharest is a great way to see some of the beautiful Romanian architecture and to explore the culture. Once entering, however, you are sure to want to set some more time aside to really discover it. The Old Town, or Lipscani, is not just a place to snap a few photos of historical buildings. This is the ultimate hang out spot in the city and it is lined with cool bars and restaurants. Have a coffee in an age-old building or head out in the evening and enjoy the nightlife.

Lipscani’s attractions

While exploring the pre-war buildings, some of which still are yet to be restored, check out the cool attractions in the area. Stavropoleos Church was built in 1724 for a Greek Monk and is intricately designed both inside and out. See the paintings on the ceiling and walk through the church’s charming courtyard on a sunny afternoon. There are plenty of old churches in Lipscani to marvel at and once you are done, some of the city’s best cafes and restaurants are nestled in amongst them all.

Just 10 minutes walking distance from the Old Town, you can find Park Inn by Radisson Bucharest Hotel & Residence. After heading out and enjoying the culturally rich atmosphere in the old part of the city, go back to a modern and stylish hotel room to rest your head for the night.
