Get in the holiday spirit at the Christmas Market

From the end of November to the beginning of January Brussels comes alive, thanks to the annual Christmas Market, Winter Wonders. Whether you're looking for the perfect Christmas gift or just want to immerse yourself in seasonal activities, it's the most wonderful time of the year for a visit. During the market the city centre transforms into a winter wonderland. With activities such as an ice rink, ferris wheel and a spectacular light show, this is the holiday event you'll remember.

A warm atmosphere in the midst of winter

When visiting the Christmas Market in Brussels you can expect to be enthralled by the beautiful lights, friendly atmosphere and tempting aromas of delicious food. The market stretches for 2 kilometres around the Bourse (Stock Exchange), through Place Saint Catherine and around the Marché aux Poissons (Fish Market). Here you can find more than 240 decorated wooden chalets selling a wide range of tasty treats like gingerbread, marzipan and chocolate.

Fun for both young and old

Apart from shopping Christmas gifts for your loved ones, the Market offers a wide variety of activities to take part in. At the Marché aux Poissons you can put your skating skills to the test on the 200-foot ice rink. For a bird's eye view of the sparkling fairy lights adorning nearby buildings you can hop on the Ferris wheel or enjoy the merry-go-rounds. The icing on the Christmas cake is the annual sound and light show, a true work of art consisting of 1,600 LED lights, which illuminate the square with a show that really puts you into the spirit of Christmas. If you're Belgium bound to enjoy the city's Christmas markets, the Park Inn by Radisson Brussels Midi is the perfect place to stay. With many attractions just a short walk away, such as the Magritte Museum, and the Gare du Midi, the main railway station, making your way around the highlights of the Belgian capital is an easy task.
