Russian art in the city center
With more than 400,000 exhibits, the State Russian Museum is the place to go for Russian fine art in St. Petersburg. Built to honor Tsar Alexander III, it’s one of the largest museums in Russia and has the world’s largest collection of Russian art. The main exhibition is located in Mikhailovsky Palace. Containing works from over 1,000 years of Russian art, the Museum includes a very wide range of artistic genres.
