Throughout Indonesia, from Sumatra to Java, ancestors play a key role. This exhibition at the BOZAR in Brussels shows the amazing diversity, power and beauty in ancestor-worship. It also explores traditions and rites in contemporary society. With objects from the National Museum in Jakarta and collections from throughout the Indonesian archipelago, the exhibition unites an amazing array of ancient archaeological, ethnographical and modern day treasures.
