Responsible Business

Taking responsibility for the environment and local community has, for many years, been an integral part of Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group’s broader commitment to sustainable development. That’s the reason why we in 2011 launched «Think Planet », a programme to save energy resources and reduce our environmental footprint. Each hotel has a unique «Think Planet » Action Plan to reduce its carbon footprint.

All French hotels of the Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group are switching to 100% Renewable energy. Our hotels aim to minimize their impact on the planet. One important contribution to a light footprint is the use of 100% green energy. In this way, our hotel contributes to the world’s mission to fight global warming. EDF has integrated renewable electricity in our power grid, and the ‘Renewable Energy Guarantees of Origin’ certificates serve as evidence that 100% of our energy is from renewable sources.

As part of Carlson Hotels and Rezidor Hotel Group family of brands, Park Inn by Radisson® has a strong track record of taking its people, communities and the environment into account in its business decisions. All Park Inn employees receive Responsible Business training, and each Park Inn hotel has a unique Responsible Business Action Plan that includes the health and well-being of guests and employees, resource efficiency relating to energy, water and waste, community outreach and charity.

Carlson Hotels and Rezidor were among the first hotel groups to sign the United Nations Global Compact and in early 2010, Rezidor was named as one of the 'World’s Most Ethical Companies' by the Ethisphere Institute, while Carlson was recognized at the Ethical Corporation's Responsible Business Awards 2010 event. Together with the UN Tourism Child Protection Code of Conduct, Carlson won the Best Collaboration Award for work on protecting children’s rights from exploitation in travel and tourism. Park Inn’s efforts in the area of corporate social responsibility have been externally verified, with many hotels having achieved third-party eco-certifications.
