Shopping in Istanbul

Istanbul is an immense city and the shopping opportunities are endless. This really is a shopper’s paradise. The best way to plan your retail experience is to break the city down into smaller areas or districts. Whether you are searching for haute couture, boutiques, or market stalls, this city has it all.

Istanbul’s Malls
Incredibly, there are over 100 malls in Istanbul. Two of which are located within 3km of Park Inn by Radisson Istanbul Ataturk Airport: Mall of Istanbul, Arena Park Mall, Starcity Outlet Center and 212 Outlet Center. Many of the city’s neighborhoods have their own malls where you can purchase everything under one roof. From Turkish and international fashion labels, shoes, accessories and jewelry, to electronic and home stores, you don’t have to go far to find the purchases you are looking for. In addition, you can find children’s entertainment and playrooms, movie theaters, restaurants and cafés.

Mall of Istanbul
There are outlet centers across the city. In particular, the Mall of Istanbul is located in Basaksehir and is home to over 350 stores. Choose from hundreds of designer labels and take the liberty of late night shopping after a busy day. This is also the perfect place for the whole family, offering an amphitheater, amusement park, movie theater and open air shopping area.

Nisantasi Quarter
No shopping experience in Istanbul is complete without a visit to Nisantasi Quarter. A favorite destination among locals and visitors, it is located in the Sisli district on the European side. The shops are set amidst beautiful residential buildings. When browsing the local boutiques and designer fashion stores, take time to look around you and enjoy the surroundings. This district is also filled with cafés and restaurants, so when it is time to refuel before you continue shopping, take a much-deserved break and enjoy the surroundings.

Discovering the bazaars
Turkey is renowned for the incredible scents and sounds of the bustling market places known as bazaars, but in particular there are two you must visit. The Grand Bazaar is one of the city’s oldest markets, which has appeared in many movies, is one of the world’s largest covered markets. It actually spans over 50 streets and inside you will find over 4,000 shops. The atmosphere is incredible as it can receive up to 400,000 visitors in one day. If it is Turkish handcrafted goods you are after, then this is the place to visit. Here you will find jewelry, rugs, ceramics and spices. There are plenty of food stalls, perfect for trying out Turkish specialties.

The Spice Bazaar dates back to the 1600s. You will never forget the aromas that greet you as you enter. Vibrant colors are matched by amazing scents from every type of spice you can imagine. Food stalls here also sell local produce for sampling and purchasing, from local cheeses, traditional Turkish coffee, candy and fruit.

There are good shopping areas in the neighborhood of the hotel and we are more than happy to guide you in the right direction. To discover more, excellent transport links across the city will take you to wherever you want to go.
