Responsible Business - Let’s take responsibility!

Hotel practises Responsible Business
Taking responsibility for the environment and local community has been an important part of the broader commitment of the Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group to sustainable development for many years. In 2001, this commitment was fortified and placed within the scope of a programme called Responsible Business (RB). Each hotel has a unique RB Action Plan covering areas such as community outreach, cultural heritage, employee and children’s rights, health and safety and environmental improvements.

The hotels are engaged with both local charity groups and the corporate international charity organisation supported by the Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, the World Childhood Foundation. The mission of the foundation is to defend the rights of the child and promote better living conditions for vulnerable and exploited children all over the world.

Rezidor hotels practice Responsible Business (RB) in the following three areas:

  • Think Planet: Minimise environmental footprint
  • Think People: Prioritise the health and safety of guests and employees
  • Think Together: Respect social and ethical issues in the company and community

This hotel has been a Green Key eco-label recipient since its opening in 2004. Green Key is the largest worldwide eco-label for hotels. It is an external recognition of this hotel’s environmental actions in energy and water conservation, waste management, environmental awareness and guest involvement in these practices.

RB activities of Park Inn by Radisson Klaipeda:

  • Educating personnel on environmental, social and ethical issues
  • Cooperating with Klaipeda’s medical care hospital and Germany’s Kinderhilfe Litauen organisation
  • Participating in yearly city clean-up activities
  • Sharing practical, hands-on knowledge of the tourism industry with students from Klaipeda Tourism School
