Zurich Hotel’s Responsible Business Activities
Taking responsibility for the environment and local community has been an important part of the broader commitment of the Rezidor Hotel Group to sustainable development for many years. In 2001, this commitment was fortified and placed within the scope of a programme called Responsible Business (RB). Each hotel has a unique RB Action Plan covering areas such as community outreach, environmental improvement, employee well-being and health and safety.

The hotels are engaged with both local charity groups and the corporate international charity organisation supported by the Rezidor Hotel Group, the World Childhood Foundation. The mission of Childhood is to defend the rights of the child and to promote better living conditions for vulnerable and exploited children at risk all over the world.

• Catering once a week for less fortunate members of the community.
• This hotel is proudly certified by the "Nature and Economics" foundation.
• The hotel practices extensive cooperation with suppliers and partners, emphasizing and promoting Responsible Business philosophy.
• This Zurich hotel’s staff undergoes regular fire drill trainings.
• The hotel has a defibrillator on site, and the staff has undergone certificated trainings.
• The hotel promotes the preservation of energy by the installation of energy-saving light bulbs.
• Motion detectors have also been installed in staff area for economical usage of electricity.
• Automated water taps installed in all public toilets.
• Toilets are equipped with a two-way flush system for the economical usage of water.
• The tool "Hoteloptimizer" monitors this hotel’s water consumption.
• All chemical products used at this hotel are biodegradable.
• All litter is separated.
